Naples: Night One

Last Monday, I tagged along with my beau on his work trip down to Naples. It was kind of a spur of the moment thing, but I was so excited to get away for a few days and explore a new city! We arrived just as the sun was going down after a long day of driving. We checked into the hotel, did a quick outfit change, and headed out to see the sights and most importantly- get some food! Fifth Avenue was so pretty at night time, all the trees and stores were lit up, and I loved that it was still so warm out even after the sun was long gone!

We strolled down the street to see what restaurants appealed to us, and landed at Bistro 821 which had a table open right out on the sidewalk. We ordered wine, snacked on bread, and ordered the "Pick Three" (we chose lobster, sea bass, and snapper) to share. They are known for their sea bass, and I can see why! I was so soft and pretty much melted right in my mouth.

I bought a new 50mm f/1.8 lens before my trip and was really excited to try it out. As you can see from the above picture on the right, I'm still learning what my f-stop needs to be in order to have the whole thing in focus (confession: actually I still need to learn to get it off of auto!) But practice makes perfect so this trip was a great way to experiment.

After dinner, we walked around a little more since I wanted to try out my new lens and I was glad my sweet man was so patient with me! LOTS of pictures were taken on this trip so I've broken it up to three different posts for each day so it's not too overwhelming. Can't wait to share more tomorrow!
