Charleston Charm: Sunset Around the Stono

The other night I instagrammed this photo from a gorgeous sunset down by the Stono River. It was such a treat not to have a big storm at night and have the chance to go for a little scenic walk around Robbie's neighborhood. I just had to share a little bit of the beauty of the Lowcountry with y'all today!

I was loving the reflections of the gorgeous clouds on the water in the marshes!

Lilly Pulitzer Resort 365

Lilly Pulitzer's newest "fall" collection goes along with their resort lifestyle and celebrates resort-wear all year round (#RESORT365) which I love because I've never been a huge fan of fall clothes (I'm crazy I know, but I love the bright colors of spring and summer!) I am so excited about the new prints since they are all items that can easily be worn now, and later- something that can't always be said about usual "fall wear" like puffer vests and cords. Check out some of my favorites below- you can click on each item to be taken directly to it online!

1) Joanna Maxi // 2) Carol Shift Dress // 3) Palmetto V-Neck Dress // 4) Windsor Strapless Dress
5) Dew Drop Bib Necklace // 6) Brielle Dress // 7) Sanibel T-Shirt Dress // 8) Deanna Tank Romper

This Riley Tassel Infinity Scarf may be my first purchase of the fall collection.
I love the bright colors and the lime tassels that can be a fun addition to any outfit!

I also am loving this Tusk Tusk Elephant Cuff- such a fun bracelet that can be worn all year round!

Charleston Blogger Meet N Greets

Last Tuesday night, a few fellow Charleston bloggers and I all met up at the Vendue Rooftop and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful night to get together! It was a great chance to get together with some other ladies and talk about blogs, Charleston, and what sparks our creativity!

Talk about an amazing view! If you haven't been here yet, I would definitely recommend it! We sat on the second level (right on the rooftop) and loved the 360 degree views of the city!

Emily of Cooper & Thames and Lanie of Classically Current

Christine of Seashells and Magnolias and me (wearing this dress - which is on sale now!!)

How fun is this elephant made out of bullets downstairs in the lobby?! The Vendue has recently been renovated and looks amazing inside! The lobby is like an art gallery now and is very sleek and modern. They have a brand new Starbucks in the lobby too that I have been dying to bring my laptop to and work in!

On Wednesday night, Sidney hosted an event at her fabulous shop Eclectic with Caycee and Natalie. Her shop is such a great stop for any kind of "eclectic" home decor- I just wanted to move right in! It was so great to meet some other fabulous Charleston blogger ladies and make some great connections with creative and talented people. I loved getting to put a "real life" face to these people that I have followed online for quite some time!

Loved these Fripp Island glasses since it was the first place Robbie & went on vacation (4th of July last year with his family!)

How cool is that life preserver mirror with the nautical navy striped lamp shade??

Krystine, Caycee, and me!

Navy Eyelet

Over the weekend, I needed a little break from work and went downtown to King Street to take back some returns, and then of course immediately spend that money on some summer sales! Almost everything at C. Wonder is on major off right now and I finally picked up this navy eyelet tunic I've had my eye on all summer for 50% off! They are sold out online but they still had a few of the navy in store (fyi- it runs big, I'm wearing an XS.)

C. Wonder Tunic, sold out online but still in stores! (similar) // Lilly Pulitzer shorts  // Jack Rogers sandals //
Lilly Pulitzer coral necklace (similar) and bangles (similar) // Kate Spade watch

I love the white eyelet tunic as well, seen below styled by Caitlin from Southern Curls and Pearls! Find a similar one here!

Today is a good day!

Happy Monday everyone... emphasis on the word happy! :) I recently picked up my Zen and the Art of Happiness again while I was needing a little extra dose of happy (which I fully blame on post 4th of July and best friend's wedding weekend blues) where I read about mindful happiness, which basically means- if you believe and want to be happy, you can convince yourself and your mind that you will be. Also, it reminded me of the importance with surrounding myself with happy, positive people- much like this quote.

So don't let those Monday blues get to you, tell yourself that today is going to be a good day!

P.S. Had to share this hilarious ecard this weekend which was pretty appropriate considering I just made a big batch of pimento cheese. Oh well, gotta live a little sometimes- double scoops included.

Homemade Pimento Cheese

Ever since I moved to South Carolina two years ago, I have become obsessed with pimento cheese, more specifically Palmetto Cheese with Jalepenos! I've always wanted to make some of my own and last week, finally decided to try it!

Of course, I wanted to try and add my signature favorite ingredient - Wickles! I added Wickles Pickles to my tuna salad, but for the pimento cheese I wanted to add some Wicked Okra to give it just the right kick.

When I cook, I'm never very good at using accurate measurements and kind of just "wing it" until it tastes right. I found some recipes on Pinterest for pimento cheese and bought ingredients based on what I found and what I like.

How I Made It:
  • Block of cheddar cheese - I kept reading that it tastes so much better to shred your own cheese and I can attest, I even have the cut on my thumb to prove it!
  • Block of Montery Jack - I used only about half of this block and saved the rest for later- Montery Jack is one of my favorites!
  • Mayo - two big spoonfuls
  • Cream cheese - also, two big spoonfuls
  • Jar of pimento peppers - dice up and add about half the jar
  • Jar of diced jalepenos - dice and add about half the jar, and maybe some of the juice too
  • Jar of Wicked Okra - again, dice and add about half the jar (I'm excited that I still have a lot of these things left over to make again!)
  • Salt & Pepper

I love that I now have a huge bowl of pimento cheese (ok so maybe it's a little dangerous) but it's also a great item for showing some Southern hospitality and share with neighbors and friends!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Click on any of the images below to be taken to that product online!

A few weeks ago when I was home in Richmond I did a little shopping with my mom at Nordstrom and decided to open up a Nordstrom Credit Card. I am so excited that I did because it means I can shop their Anniversary Sale early this week! Do you have a Nordstrom Card? If so, shop some of my favorite sale picks and if not, you should probably get on it because they have some great items marked down a lot.

I am loving the new Tory Burch "Plaque" line of bags and wallets because, like so many of Tory Burch's items, they have such a classic and timeless look. I am so excited that these Kendra Scott earrings are included in the sale because I love my neon pink ones! I think the orange is such a great color for summer and fall paired with neutrals, leopard or maybe even some maroon for Hokie gamedays! You can't go wrong with a great pair of nude pumps, and I always go for Cole Haan ones because they are always the most comfortable! Also, I think this "Shopping Is My Cardio leather pouch seems to be the perfect little gift for a fellow shopaholic friend- or of course on that note, a little gift for yourself!

Attention Charleston Bloggers!

Last night I had an urge to drive downtown and go for a run walk like I used to when I lived there. It was great to get out and enjoy a beautiful summer night in the city and while I was around, I was doing a little brainstorming...

While I love being able to network with other Charleston bloggers through social media, I thought it would be even better if we all get together and meet for a casual happy hour at a rooftop bar!

If you're interested in attending, leave your contact info in the comments and I'll email you with more info!
Hope to see you there!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Somehow, it's taken until today to finally get back into my usual groove after over a week of being on and off for work. But with that said, I'm finding plenty of things to be happy about! I think this quote pretty much says it all.

I've been pinning my little heart away trying to avoid work the last couple days and in doing so, have found some pretty awesome finds including...

This awesome watch that always reminds that it is five o'clock somewhere.

This cute and comfy blue and white romper that belongs in my closet ASAP.

Some great steals of a deal on C. Wonder sale jewelry!

A chicken nugget recipe that I need to test out soon.

And last but not least, this amazing outdoor living area of Liza Pulitzer Calhoun, daughter of Lilly Pulitzer!
