Throwback Thanksgiving Thursday

A couple weeks ago I was going through some of my old draft posts and realized I never shared my "Thanksgiving Recap" from last year! It sure was a special one!

The Wednesday day before we headed out of town, Robbie took me to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Charleston, Fleet Landing, which was also where we had our first date. While waiting for our table, we got drinks and watched the sunset over the harbor and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!! It was the best Thanksgiving Eve ever! :)

Our parents came and met up with us for dinner to celebrate!

Then Thursday morning we headed to Beaufort to celebrate "Thanksgiving in the street" with Robbie's family. We wanted to keep our engagement to our close friends and family at first while we shared with everyone so this was my Instagram from last year, carefully hiding the new shiny ring on my finger! ;)

We finally shared with our friends on social media and enjoyed this gorgeous sunset out on the porch in front of the fire.

Next up was Thanksgiving round two with my family in Hilton Head!

We continued the celebrations and my mom took some engagement photos out on the beach since it was such a gorgeous day!

It was such a blessing to share such a special time with our family and made me more aware of all of the things I was thankful for then, and still am thankful for today!

Thanksgiving Dresses

As usual, I'm getting very excited for Thanksgiving this year (which was probably clear from this post yesterday) but it's always one of my favorite holidays with my family. This will be the first year that I won't be spending our actual Thanksgiving dinner with my family since Robbie and I will be sharing the long weekend between each of our families, so Thursday we will be with his family.

With the anticipation of the holiday, always comes the excitement of planning an outfit for the day. In my mind I'm thinking something along the lines of a sweater dress with maybe a faux fur vest and boots. I've gathered a few dresses that I think would fit the bill... of course keeping in mind that since I'll be eating a lot, I'll want to make sure I don't choose anything too restricting! ;)
