Our Fall Home

Welcome to our fall home! I've really enjoyed decorating for fall now that we have a house to decorate and it has made me feel more festive for fall!
The wreath was the finishing touch that I picked up this past weekend from Hobby Lobby, mostly because I waited to long to order one of those really cute ones from Etsy! I love how all of the orange pops with our blue (Benjamin Moore Gossamer Blue) front door!

The garden flag was an Etsy purchase and I love that it's the first thing you see when you're walking up to the house!

When you walk in our front door, here is our little entry table- which was a hand-me-down from my parents!  I added a little white pumpkin from Target (sold out online), mini pumpkins on a vine that I found at Kroger last week and a cute little "Trick or Treat" sign for Halloween!

Our built-ins were probably my favorite thing to style in the house and I love how it all has a little story or memory. This sweet Georgia print I just ordered here and is great for our new Savannah home! To get the shelves ready for fall, I added some candy corn to our monogram hurricane and framed a page from one of my old Lilly planners for October and hope to change it out for each month!

How cute is this little guy? Another Hobby Lobby find- I can get into some trouble there!

A lot of the little goodies on our shelves are from Home Goods, though that wood pineapple was brought home from our honeymoon in Antigua so it reminds us of our great trip every time we see it!

See more our fall bar cart that I featured HERE!

Our fall table was one of the first things I put together to get into the fall spirit. Our next door neighbor kindly gave us her extra pumpkin plates and napkins (used on the bar cart). Both are actually already sold out but I love the whole watercolor pumpkin line and added a table runner to make it all cohesive! Add in these adorable pumpkin bakers, my favorite seasonal candle in Sweet Vanilla Cinnamon, and you've got a fall table!

Lastly we have this burlap wreath I made (using this for inspiration) was perfect to frame this Lindsay Letters print that we have in a corner of our kitchen. I think this is a great little reminder for the season, though it may have found a permanent home here! :)

Our Fall Bar Cart

I have loved having a bar cart in our house because it is something I can so easily change up and create little vignettes depending on the season! You can see what our bar cart looked like before here and what I've used for "fall bar cart" inspiration here. I haven't added too many fall touches around the house yet, but this is our little corner of fall. By the way, you won't really see me decorating for Halloween... I have personally preferred to stick to "fall" with oranges, maroons, and greens like you'll see below! This way, my decor can extend all the way through Thanksgiving!

Bar Cart // Savannah Print // Monogram Decanter // Moscow Mule Mugs // Antler Bottle Opener (simliar)
Painted Pumpkin Plates // Painted Pumpkin Napkins // Fall Sign and "Give Thanks" Pumpkin (old - love these

Bellini Cocktail // Sofia Mini (wine in a can!) // Beverage Dispenser // Cake Stand // Vase Fillers (similar)

Blue and White Pumpkins

If you've been following me for a bit, you'll know that it's no secret that I love me some blue and white! I  wrote this post this spring, have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to the classic color combo, and even our wedding was blue and white!

If you share my love for blue and white, you might love these blue and white pumpkins too! Such a fun way to decorate for fall whether you want to mix with orange or white pumpkins or just by themselves for a little touch of fall.

I'm loving those hand-painted chinoiserie pumpkins! How cute are these pumpkins all grouped together! Want to see more? I just found this article all about Chinoiserie Pumpkins!

Fall Bar Cart Inspiration

Fall is clearly in the air this week, despite the warm temperatures that are still here Georgia. This week I posted some transitional fall pieces and my favorite way to add a little fall into your wardrobe. I will admit, I am definitely ready for the cooler temps to come, which is not something I say often. Mostly I think I'm just ready to break out my new navy booties, and trying to find a reason to add another puffer vest to my closet.

In the meantime, I have started to decorate the house for fall and was so excited to break out my favorite pumpkin candle the other night! Because I love celebrating the start of the weekend with some bar cart inspiration, I've found some great fall themed bar cart inspo to share! How cute are these?!

Not really a "bar cart" but I love this coffee bar from AHR's Fall Home Tour

Wild for Fall

Yesterday I posted a few of my favorite transitional pieces for when it warm but you still want to dress for fall in the South. I think one of the easiest ways to transition is by changing your color palette and throwing some animal print into your wardrobe. This can be anything from a pair of leopard sandals to a fun animal printed dress. It's a great way to add a little fun to some of your neutrals and get into the fall spirit even if it isn't quite fall weather out yet!

Transitioning Into Fall

Transitioning into fall is always a little bittersweet for me at first. I'm such a summer girl and love warm weather because it means the beach, bright colors, and usually just lots of fun times in general. However slowly but surely I have started to get ready for fall to come, and with the cool nights we've had lately it's a been a little easier to get ready for the season.

Though I'm not going full force into fall fashion quite yet, I'm slowly trying to transition from my summer favorites (pretty much all bright Lilly things) into some more "fall-like" staples. I'm all about buying things I can wear now, with maybe sandals or shorts (since it's still in the 80's) and then wear later with boots and sweaters.

I've had this dress in my shopping cart for the last couple weeks and finally purchased it today because I think it's going to be a great fall staple. I love the simplicity of dresses and don't have a problem wearing long sleeves now anyways because I'm almost always cold inside in the air conditioning. I think that dress will be so cute with booties (love these!) once it's a little cooler out.

Thanksgiving Dresses

As usual, I'm getting very excited for Thanksgiving this year (which was probably clear from this post yesterday) but it's always one of my favorite holidays with my family. This will be the first year that I won't be spending our actual Thanksgiving dinner with my family since Robbie and I will be sharing the long weekend between each of our families, so Thursday we will be with his family.

With the anticipation of the holiday, always comes the excitement of planning an outfit for the day. In my mind I'm thinking something along the lines of a sweater dress with maybe a faux fur vest and boots. I've gathered a few dresses that I think would fit the bill... of course keeping in mind that since I'll be eating a lot, I'll want to make sure I don't choose anything too restricting! ;)

InVESTed Interest

During these "in-between" seasons, a nice vest is always something to inVEST in! They are great to keep your body warm and not keep your arms restricted in a coat. I always think vests are a great way to be fashionable, yet still very functional. I have been loving my herringbone and quilted vests the last few days and have found some other cute ones in just about every shade. Extra bonus is that half of these are under $100!

P.S. It's Election Day! Don't forget to get out and VOTE!

Pumpkin Season

I've been trying to embrace fall and, I'm sure like many of you all, have been on a major pumpkin kick while doing so. I found this pumpkin chocolate chip cookie recipe on Pinterest and was so excited to make them this past weekend! The fresh baked cookies plus the smell of my favorite Pumpkin Souffle candle gave off the perfect fall aroma, which made me long for some cooler weather and changing leaves!

Fall Favorites

Now that we have gotten a little taste of fall (though I think it was just a tease since it looks like it'll be in the 80's this week) I finally gotten into full-on fall mode. I'm a warm-weather girl at heart and love spring and summer, but by the time October rolls around, I am finally ready to put away the shorts and sandals to break out the boots and vests!
Here are a few of my current fall favorites:

This candle instantly makes it feel like fall in any room. I discovered it at Anthropologie last year and have gone through almost the whole tall jar. In case you aren't sure you want to buy the tall size, it also comes in this smaller version. I also love the Sweet Vanilla and Cinnamon scent and this Pumpkin Spice Chai one sounds amazing too!

As the temperatures start to drop, I love coming home and putting on a cozy pair of pj's. I can't wait to throw these Old Navy Halloween pants on and watch some of my favorite fall tv shows and Halloween movies (Hocus Pocus anyone?!)

This Stella and Dot hot pink elephant band bracelet is not only incredibly cute but also goes towards a great cause! 100% of the proceeds in October go to the Noreen Fraser Foundation which raises funds for women's cancer research.

This basic black Beckett dress can be worn so many different ways, for so many different occasions. I love that it easily can be dressed up with maybe some leopard heels and pretty jewelry, or dressed down with riding boots or booties and a colorful scarf. If black isn't your color, it comes in navy, green, and turquoise too!

If you don't own this scarf yourself, most of you have already seen it all over the blogosphere but that's because this plaid scarf is so great to tie together any fall outfit! I wore mine on Sunday when the temperatures dropped a little bit and it is so warm and cozy, I know it'll be making many appearance this fall/winter!

Another candle I know but recently I have loved lighting this one and the pumpkin souffle candle for some extra fall-ness in my apartment! Rewined Candles are made in Charleston from recycled wine bottles so I love to support a unique local company!

I love Sperry's take on the classic Duck Boot that L.L. Bean has made so popular! I have a pair of Rubber Moc Bean Boots that I got in college and though I've wanted to get a taller pair because I like that look better, I feel silly buying something so similar (color and style wise) to what I already have... enter Sperry's Saltwater Duck Boots in pink! I love that these are so fun and bright so when I'm wearing these when it's miserable out, I can still have a little pop of color!

Haymarket Designs always has some of the cutest personalized things for the holidays, and right now they have lots of cute Halloween items for entertaining or decoration. Since they are personalized (you can get most of their things monogrammed!) they take a couple weeks so the sooner you order the better!

Unlike most girls, I'm not a huge fan of Pumpkin Spiced Lattes but I DO like some pumpkin coffee every now and then so it's nice to have some convenient for those cooler fall mornings!
