Love One Another

A few days ago I was searching for a blog to add to my daily reads and stumbled upon something that made my heart ache... a blog dedicated to "hating" on other bloggers. At first I just couldn't believe that people could be so cruel but it's a scary reminder of how, in this day and age, people can hide behind their anonymity and put others down to somehow make themselves feel better.

I guess it all seemed a little funny to me, because my favorite part about the blog community is how we all lift each other up. I saw a quote on Pinterest a few years ago that I think of often, "promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate" which I think is another great reminder for all of us. So often we can get caught up in something negative, but it's important to reinforce the positive and keep an optimistic outlook on life. I love to see other bloggers that are supportive and caring towards others and I try to emulate this attitude.

Loving others, not just other bloggers of course but anyone in our lives, gives us a full and happy heart. As Vincent van Gogh believed, "there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people." So go ahead and let your cup runneth over with love!

Monogram Monday: Gameday Monograms

After the Hokies amazing win this past weekend over Ohio State, I just had to share these fun maroon and orange monograms for Ashleigh that I made a few weeks ago. I love seeing all of the different state pride shirts during football season, they're a fun way to dress for gameday wearing something that isn't the typical college tshirt! See some more of my Sweet Tea Monograms gameday options below:

Add a little state pride on your pullover with a monogram in your school colors and team name or logo on the collar!

J&J's Southern Wedding

A couple months ago, one of my best friends got married to her high school sweetheart back in our hometown of Richmond, VA. I had been wanting to feature some photos from her wedding but never got a chance ...BUT just yesterday her wedding was highlighted on the Southern Weddings blog (YAY!!) so what better time to share some more photos!
Me with the gorgeous bride. The bridesmaids all loved our Zoe seersucker dresses from Lula Kate!
There was no shortage of monograms at this wedding! This boxwood monogram was given to the bride and groom by her cousins and was perfect to use at the reception!
Pineapples and magnolia blooms made beautiful centerpieces.
The bride's "something blue" were her Jack Rogers with her new monogram!
The bridesmaid bouquets were made from gorgeous peonies that matched our dresses perfectly!
The reception was held at historical Berkley Plantation outside of Richmond.
Some of the bridesmaids overlooking the James River.
The bride had custom monogrammed corn hole boards made for guests to play during the reception.
The bride's mother sewed these seersucker bowties and I completed them with a monogram for some of the ushers.

Hanging with Lindsey and Michelle, two of my best friends since elementary school (who both are getting married in the upcoming months!!)

Tidewater Legacy

A couple weeks ago I was so excited to find in my mailbox this adorable Tidewater Legacy package (love their branding and packaging!) from one of my Sweet Tea Monograms customers, Sibby. The company is based in the Tidewater region of Virginia, not too far from my hometown, Richmond! I love that their company stands for the legacy of life by the water, both the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean- a value that I can definitely resonate with.

From their website:

While we were at the beach this past weekend, my friend Jen and I got the chance the model our Tidewater tees as the sun was starting to set!
Jen is wearing the women's v-neck tee in butter and I'm in one of the pocket tees in white.
I'm a big fan of anything beachy and these shirts were perfect for casual wear, and you gotta love the big crab logo! They're also all Comfort Colors too so they're super comfy and won't shrink too much.

Thanks Tidewater Legacy for sharing your legacy with me!
